A Bad Day Fishing is Better than a
Good Day at Work
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() Welcome to u.s.3rd CKF Kayak fishing is a fast growing way to fish.
It's an exciting, peaceful and ECO friendly
way to hunt down your favorite fish without
leaving fuels or lubricants in our precious
waters. Kayak manufacturers are designing
and building kayaks specifically for todays
fisherman. This new style of fishing allows
you to paddle the shallowest of waters, where
no boat can go. You can enjoy this sport
alone or in groups and it's a great way
to spend time with family or friends. Many
seasoned kayak fishermen now compete in America's
Great Gulf Coast tournaments from Texas to
Florida. Whether on the rivers, in the coastal bays or outside the breakers people are reaping the rewards of kayak fishing. Up and down the coast there are also kayak fishing guides who can usually treat you to a days limit, whether it be Trout, Redfish or Flounder. Most guides will paddle right along with you, but some down towards Laguna Madre, Texas will pull your kayaks or carry them by mother-ship to places where the Monster Trout are. * MMK Outfitters * {MMK Outfitters}- Many of us fishermen are also hunters, so if your the Whitetail, Elk, Kudo, Bear or even Lion hunter or would like to, i've put a link to an excellent hunting guide service. {MMK Outfitters} specialize in exotic hunts from Texas to Canada, South America, and Africa. MMK is a World Class hunting guide service dedicated to making your hunt the best experience in hunting. MMK also works with the TPWD to better manage the growth of deer in quality and quantity. I highly recommend this service, click their link, check them out. * Take a Kid Fishing * I read some where..... Take a kid hunting now and you won't have to hunt for them later. Well i know that holds true with taking a kid fishing. Taking a kid fishing instills rewarding experiences and values they will remember for the rest of their lives. Not to leave out, its a great way to * PAY it FORWARD.* To keep the great sport of fishing alive and passing on Fish, Wildlife and Wetland Conservation to our younger generation. Remember some of them will be our leaders one day. A couple of good tips is to keep things simple, buy them real fishing equipment, ( not the toy kind ) and find a fishing hole with a high concentration of fish. You can check out your state Parks and Wildlife Departments to find excellent places to fish, what kind of fish and enjoyable places to spend a day in quality time with a kid. Always remember safety first. Make sure your child is aware of his surroundings and wears a Coast Guard approved PDF ( Personal Floatation Device). Manufacturers make plenty of styles designed specifically for fishing. This is a good idea even if just fishing off a bank. Remember the power of water is highly under estimated and banks can be illusive and slippery. { Look for your PDF's and other fishing gear, kayaks and equipment and save at Bass Pro Shops and Boaters World to the right in our affiliates section.} > Spring Fishing Tip How Tides Temperatures and Water Clarity affect How When and Where to Fish Spring is finally here which brings us warmer water Temperatures that draw the fish up to feed sooner, leaving those deeper winter warming holes to feed in the shallow waters on the mud flats, grassy areas and oyster reefs earlier in the mornings here on the Gulf Coast. Then, back to the depths in the hotter afternoons to stay cooler until the sun lowers towards the horizon cooling of the waters a bit. Some of our coasts best times are sunrise untill latter morning and from 2-3 hours before sunset. Its time to make sure you have packed your favorite Top water Lures or Flies, or fresh live bait. Its best to prepare before you go, check your Tide Charts, (which you can find under our Tides button), possibly find out the water clarity (using surf webcams). Knowing your water clarity will help you decide what color Lure or Fly to use. Myself, i pick brighter and more colorful lures to use when the waters are clearer and darker browns or blacks when the waters are murky. I find i have a better day fishing when i stick with my personal choices i've established through the years. Everyone is different, we all have our own favorites which work best for each of us. Also remember to calculate your wind factor in. This could determine which spot to fish at. Look in our Surf Cams, Weather and Tides sections to help you plan your fishing trips.
